On February 6, 2016, Paramount Chief Advocate Vekuii Rukoro of the Ovaherero, invited 23 individuals for a retreat at the Farm Okorusengo, homestead of Albert Hoonjo and Olga Kovaa Tjihero, to caucus about the way forward on the issue of the Ovaherero genocide and reparations. The Ovaherero Shoa was committed by Imperial Germany in Namibia from1904-1908.
